Mario Wüthrich is Professor in the Department of Mathematics at ETH Zurich, and Honorary Visiting Professor at City, University of London (2011-2022). He holds a PhD in Mathematics from ETH Zurich (1999). From 2000 to 2005, he held an actuarial position at Winterthur Insurance, Switzerland, in the field of non-life insurance claims reserving. He is Qualified Actuary SAA (2004), served on the board of the Swiss Association of Actuaries (2006-2018), and is Editor-in-Chief of ASTIN Bulletin.

Marie-Pier Côté, FSA, is an Assistant Professor at the School of Actuarial Science at Laval University in Québec, Canada. She is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and holds a Chair in Educational Leadership on Big Data Analytics for Actuarial Sciences – Intact. Prior to joining Laval University, she completed her doctoral degree in statistics on the topic of dependence modeling for general insurance under the supervision of Christian Genest at McGill University.

Brian Fannin has been an actuary for over 20 years, having become an Associate of the CAS in 2002 and a Certified Specialist in Predictive Analytics (CSPA) in 2017. He has worked in a variety of roles in commercial insurance, both primary and excess, here in the US as well as Europe, London and Asia. An early proponent of R, he has taught various workshops and seminars for the CAS, Actex and insurance clients. He is the author of the book R for Actuaries and Data Scientists with Applications to Insurance, published by Actex. He joined the staff of the CAS in March of 2018 as a Research Actuary. His focus is to enable CAS committees and research partners to work efficiently in developing relevant, practical content.

Andrew Mackenzie, FSA, CERA, MAAA, is a health actuary specializing in predictive modeling, behavioral economics, and outcomes evaluation. He is currently a partner with Ian Duncan at Santa Barbara Actuaries, the President and Founder of Consilium Choice, a health plan decision support company, and the cofounder of Nvoyance, a value based care analytics platform. Prior to SBA, Andrew was a Chairman’s Fellow at Towers Watson. Andrew holds degrees in economics and statistics from UCSB.

Peng Shi, FSA, ACAS, is the Charles and Laura Albright Professor in Business and Finance at the Wisconsin School of Business. Professor Shi is an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) and a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA). Current research interests are problems at the intersection of insurance and statistics.

Josh Otis is the Telematics Product Director at Nationwide Insurance where he leads Nationwide's telematics-based auto insurance programs including SmartRide and the distracted driving programs. His 13 years of product management experience in varied distribution channels drives his focus on making the roads safer and elevating the telematics experience for customers.
